Aluminium Sulfate

Aluminum sulfate is an inorganic substance with a chemical formula of Al2(SO4)3, a molecular weight of 342.15, and a white crystalline powder.

In the paper industry, it is used as a precipitation agent for rosin gum, wax emulsion and other rubber materials, as a flocculant in water treatment, as a retention agent for foam fire extinguishers, as a raw material for the manufacture of alum and aluminum white, as a raw material for petroleum decolorization, deodorant, and pharmaceuticals. Raw materials, etc., can also manufacture artificial gems and high-grade ammonium alum.

Applications of Aluminium Sulfate:

1.It's used for purification of drinking water and wastewater treatment by settling of impurities by means of precipitation and flocculation.

2.Paper Industry: It helps in sizing of paper at neutral and alkaline pH, thus improving paper quality (reducing spots

and holes and improving sheet formation and strength) and sizing efficiency.

3.Textile Industry : It is used for color fixing in Naphthol based dyes for cotton fabric.

4.Other Uses:Leather tanning, lubricating compositions, fire retardants; decolorizing agent in petroleum, deodorizer; food additive; firming agent; dyeing mordant; foaming agent in firefighting foams; fireproofing cloth; catalyst; PH control; waterproofing concrete; aluminum compounds, zeolites etc.
